The Lamppost Education Initiative and ISLAH-LA are pleased to announce the launching of the First Annual Black American Muslim Conference (BAMC). The conference will be held on the weekend of March 17-18, 2018 at the Institute of Knowledge in Diamond Bar, CA, 30 minutes from Los Angeles, CA. The aim of this conference is to focus on the concerns, plight, and future of Islam in Black America. With special panel discussions and lectures, the BAMC will address issues of primary concern to the African American Muslim community as well as issues we all face together. All are welcome to attend the conference. Issues related to marriage and the family, economics, incarceration, policing, education, morality, spirituality, and the state of African-American mosques will be explored by some of the foremost black American scholars and Islamic teachers in America.
